We are proud that our Pre-School children are able to wear a comfortable uniform which will allow them to identify themselves as members of our learning community. The uniform is purple to support the community in the identification of the Pre-School Pupils as being under a different admissions policy. The uniform details for the pre-school are as follows:

Purple t-shirt ideally with Little Cranes Pre-School Logo
Comfortable trousers
Practical, comfortable shoes for general wear
Wellington boots for outdoor wet and messy play
Velcro or Gusset Plimsolls for Hall use
Where needed, and in discussion with Pre-School Staff, spare clothing may need to also be provided by parents.

Uniform for EYFS to Year Four can be purchased from the school office at both sites, although a small administration charge will be made to cover costs and a limited stock only is available. Uniform for Little Cranes Pre-School can be purchased from the school office at the Braeburn Way site.

On health and safety grounds, we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. Should there be a requirement on faith grounds, this would need to be discussed with the Headteacher first.
If a child wishes to have his/her ear(s) pierced, we ask that this be carried out at the beginning of the summer holiday, so that the healing process is complete by the time school starts again in September and the ear stud can be removed. In the rare cases when a child cannot remove their ear studs parents must provide plasters that the child can themselves apply to cover ear studs during PE lessons. If they are not covered the child will not be able to take part in the P.E lessons. In all circumstances only plain studs may be worn.
Inexpensive watches may be worn. However, if a watch is designed for games or making disruptive noises it should not be worn for school.

The school does not permit children to have extreme haircuts or colouring that could serve as a distraction to other children or themselves. Hair bands, clips etc. should be discreet designs in colours compatible with school colours and only used in order to keep hair in place. Long hair should be tied back for practical subjects, including PE. Some hair ornaments may need to be removed for PE on the grounds of health and safety. No make-up or nail varnish may be worn during the school day. Similarly, temporary transfers or fake ‘tattoos’ are not appropriate.

Pupils may wear on faith grounds a blue or white head covering. Headscarves must be small, shoulder length and either blue or white.

In Autumn, Winter and Spring a warm waterproof coat is essential together with hat, gloves and scarf when necessary.
In the Summer Term a light-wear waterproof jacket is advisable.
On hot sunny days children should be protected from the sun when outdoors by:
Wearing a hat or cap.
Wearing an appropriate SPF sun-screen that has been applied at home, or that they have brought into school to apply themselves (adults in school are not permitted to apply sun-screen).
