School Uniform
There are regular uniform checks conducted by the Executive Head Teacher and the Welfare Officer. If trainers are worn for medical reasons the school will require a note stating how long this arrangement will be in place for.
Girls
Grey or black skirt, just above the knee, or pinafore OR Grey or black straight legged trousers, not leggings
White polo shirt or white blouse
School sweatshirt or school cardigan
White socks – ankle or knee length (not “trainer socks” or over the knee socks) or grey/black/tan tights
Cotton white/light blue school summer dress
Black, sensible, flat-heeled shoes (no boots); in the summer: sandals with socks
for PE
Trainers or plimsolls ; Shorts – black; White T-shirt – plain or with Harefield logo; Track suit in winter, black or grey if possible (with no prominent logos)
Boys
Grey or black straight legged trousers OR Grey shorts (optional) in the summer - not sports shorts
Pale blue polo shirt or white shirt
School sweatshirt
Grey/black socks
Black sensible, flat-heeled shoes (no boots)
Trainers or plimsolls; Shorts – black; White T-shirt – plain or with Harefield logo; Grey/black track suit in winter if possible (with no prominent logos)
Additional Information:
Trainers - not to be worn indoors and are for lunch time play and outdoor games only, they should not be worn to school. Bare feet is ideal for indoor PE
Hats - baseball hats may be worn outside in the summer (hats with designer logos are not permitted)
Hair bands – plain colour – simple in design
Scarf – may be worn for religious reasons only, but they must be plain
Swimming - Year 5 pupils require a swimming hat which can be purchased from the pool
Storage - all kit should be kept in a bag of sensible size
Labels - all clothing should be clearly labelled, unmarked items will be disposed of each half term
Football/Netball/Athletics - the school provides teams with school kit which must be washed and returned
Waterproofs – it is important that children have waterproof clothing for playtimes
The school also enforces certain rules in relation to wearing the above, as listed below:
Sweatshirts/jumpers - are not to be worn tied around the waist or shoulders
Shirts - are to be tucked in to the waist
Hats - are not to be worn indoors at all
PE kit - is to be kept in school during week days
Jewellery - no jewellery at all except for plain gold/silver earrings (not below the ear lobe) or for religious reasons. No earrings are to be worn on PE/Games/Swimming days - teachers are not responsible for looking after earrings.
Long hair - tied back for health and safety reasons - hair accessories should be simple and plain
Other issues
No hair colour or shaved patterns in hair, no body paint or transfers, no nail varnish or false nails, no sun glasses unless for medical reasons, no flashing shoes or trainer shoes and no make-up.
