Subsidies
The Governing Body of the school recognises that pupils could be vulnerable if they are unable to obtain school uniform and aims to help by providing a subsidy in cases of significant and proven hardship. The school is situated in an area of high deprivation and has high numbers of pupils entitled to free school meals. The school uniform has been designed to be as inclusive and as easily available and good value for money as possible. Parents carers should write to the headteacher or arrange to meet the headteacher to talk about why they cannot afford to purchase school uniform. In making a decision about whether to provide a subsidy to a family the headteacher will take into account all available evidence which may include the size of a family, the circumstances known to the school about the family, any hard evidence provided by the family. Parents should approach the School/Home Support Workers if they need assistance in applying for help with school uniform or in meeting with the headteacher. The headteacher may confer with the Chair of Governors about the decision. Any subsidy will be funded from the School Fund.
