Parents and Carers,
can now offer you the opportunity to buy your child’s school uniform via our
School Website using a Company that has been carefully
selected to ensure that you receive a good quality and hardwearing uniform. The
prices represent excellent value for money and we look forward to working with
this long established Company.
Wychall Primary School Uniform
At Wychall Primary School we
believe that all children should wear clothing that is in keeping with our
caring, nurturing and purposeful learning ethos of 'Safe, Secure and
Successful'. Wearing school uniform reinforces this ethos and enables your
child to be an integral part of our community.
Certain school activities are best facilitated by specialised,
appropriate clothing; this includes organised events outside of normal school

Our policy is based on the
belief that that a school uniform;
fit for purpose when children are pursuing a wide range of activities

practical and distinctive

not distracting in class (as fashion clothes or styles might be)

cohesion between different groups of pupils
regarded as suitable, and good value for money, by most parents

We have tried to ensure that our
uniform is available in most large store and supermarkets.
Our school uniform consists of:
yellow polo shirt with or without school logo
bottle green sweatshirt or cardigan with or without school logo
or short grey trousers not leggings, joggers or fashion trousers
length grey skirt or pinafore dress
or yellow gingham knee length dress in warmer weather
white, black, grey or green tights or socks
green Wychall zip fleece/waterproof jacket
** Year 6 pupils have the
opportunity to earn the role of Prefect within our school.
When children accomplish this role they are
presented with a special light green sweatshirt listing the children in their
final class at Wychall.
This is given
free of charge however if additional sweatshirts are requested, there will be
the normal charge from school.
shoes or plain black trainers (no logos)
shoes should have low heels. Please note that children are not permitted to
wear mules, sandals, sling backs, peep toes or fashion shoes. Boots may be worn
in the winter months or wet weather and changed out of once in school.
& Swimming Kit:
plimsolls for indoor PE
swimming trunks/costume (not bermudas or bikinis) with a bag for swimming
In the colder months it is
important that children are dressed appropriately for outdoor PE. Black
Tracksuit trousers and a plain
sweat top will ensure their comfort.
NB. SCHOOL STOCKS POLO SHIRTS,
SWEAT SHIRTS WITH LOGOS AND PE KITS AT COST PRICE DIRECT FROM THE
MANUFACTURERS. PLEASE SEE WEBSITE FOR CURRENT PRICES.
On health and safety grounds we
do not allow children to wear jewellery to school except for items listed
wristwatches are permitted from Year 3 but are bought to school at pupil’s own
They must be silent and named
with pierced ears may wear one pair of small simple stud earrings. Pupils must
be able to remove these by themselves or have them covered so they can take
part in P.E.
Head wear is not allowed
in school except for religious or medical reasons. Girls from the Muslim
community who choose to wear a head covering garment may wear a green, plain
short hijab or white if preferred in summer.
Long hair must be tied
back and short hair should be worn in a smart style without embellishments
(patterns, shaved sections or Mohican). Children’s hair should not be dyed or
coloured due to medical risks.
Please ensure that your child brings
a coat to school every day (a lightweight jacket/raincoat in the summer
A copy of this policy will be
agreed with parents of all children new to our school. If anybody has
difficulty complying with the uniform policy on medical grounds this should be
referred to the Headteacher.
Please ensure that ALL CLOTHING
AND EQUIPMENT IS CLEARLY LABELLED AS THE SCHOOL CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST
