BURSTED WOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL
Wearing school uniform encourages children to feel that they belong. Smart children take a pride in their learning and their school. At Bursted Wood Primary School, all children from Reception to Year 6 wear the same uniform and the uniform will be worn all year; a yellow and white gingham summer dress can be worn in the summer. We do not require any uniform items to be specifically branded.
Below are details of our school uniform. The items highlighted in yellow can be purchased, embroidered with our school emblem, from the Mapac website or from ‘Boffins’, our local school uniform stockist. Details are printed overleaf for both. However, items do not have to have this emblem embroidered but they must be the same colour.

Most children at the school will have identical or similar items of clothing. It is therefore essential that everything has a name clearly marked inside so that if it is mislaid it can be returned.
Jewellery
With health and safety in mind, any form of jewellery, including nose studs or other forms of body piercing is considered unnecessary and is not suitable in school. Such items can easily be lost or cause injury. However, should you wish, children are permitted to wear a watch and simple, small, plain stud earrings but not hoops. If they do not have stud earrings, then they should not wear any earrings to school. Any child arriving at school wearing jewellery, other than a watch or stud earrings, will be asked to remove them. The jewellery will be put in a sealed envelope and returned to the child at the end of the day.
