Mapac – The Scholar, the Artist, the Musician and the Entrepreneur
Founded in 1955 as a packaging company, Mapac is an abbreviation for Marc Anthony Packaging. Since 1955, Mapac has undergone several changes in direction and for many years Mapac’s core business was the supply of carrier bags and suit covers, supplying some of the largest companies in the world such as Benetton and Ford.
Mapac is now split into 4 key areas
Education
In1985, Mapac was asked by a local school to make a polythene bag that young children could use to take their books to and from school every day.
As true innovators, Mapac took this idea and developed the Original Bookbag, the most recognizable and widely used products in the UK school market.
Today, Mapac have sold over 10 million Book bags worldwide. Mapac have recently entered the school clothing arena and are fast becoming a very successful “one Stop Shop” for schools wanting both bags and uniform.
Art
With the acquisition of Artcare in 2006, Mapac now have one of the largest ranges in Artist luggage and accessories in Europe. Working in close partnership with Colart Fine Art and Graphics, the Artcare by Mapac range of portfolios, cases and accessories can be found in almost every Art shop in the UK. Mapac also have a strong European presence with Colart distributing in Benelux and Germany. Mapac also have independent distributors in Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
Music
Mapac have an award winning range of unique and vibrant music bags and accessories. The designs on the Mapac music bags are both eye catching and fun. Some of our designs were actually created by a local school in Watford.
Mapac work closely with Barnes and Mullins and you can find a Mapac music bag in most music shops in the UK and several throughout Europe.
Mapac also manufacture and supply an incredibly popular range of choir folders that can be easily personalized with the logo of the choir or society.
Corporate
Mapac are proud to still manufacture many of our products in the UK. With our East London factory, we are able to meet the huge demand for branded corporate merchandise. Mapac have some of the most skilled craftsmen in the world in this field and we work closely with our clients to make their concepts and ideas reality. We are one of the few remaining UK companies that have the ability to talk about your idea and have a working sample for you on the same day.
